Deron and Tamara will be teaching concurrent games of backgammon for anyone who wants to learn.  There will be two boards set up and depending on level of interest, Deron and Tamara can play at each board OR teach and assist with two new players at each board.

This "learn to play" session will occur a few more times over the summer in preparation for a backgammon tournament to take place in the fall raising money for Carmichael Outreach through pwyf.ca

Area majority game with dominoes! This will be my first time playing so there may be some light rulebook referencing. Also, despite the peaceful nature theme I've heard this game has the potential to be quite mean :)

Haven't been to Chewsday in a long time, going to bring out an old classic to play.

"The players are plantation owners in the days when ships had sails. By growing up to five different kind of crops – corn, indigo, sugar, tobacco, and coffee – they try to run their business more efficiently than their close competitors: growing crops and storing them efficiently, developing San Juan with useful buildings, deploying their colonists to best effect, selling crops at the right time, and, most importantly, shipping their goods back to Europe for maximum benefit.

The game system lets players choose the order of the phases in each turn by allowing each player to choose a role from those remaining when it is his turn. No role can be selected twice in the same round. The player who ends up with the most victory points – achieved by shipping goods and building – wins the game."

Biggest apologies, I'm going to have to cancel the Puerto Rico game I was going to host due to unforseen family commitments.  I will definitely bring it out sometime soon though, was really looking forward to it.
